Essentials

The Process

1.

Our Initial Meeting

When we meet, in person or on the phone, we will review all the elements of the wedding ceremony you envision: vows, rings, readings, music, family participation and location. Whether you both are from different faiths or have different feelings about faith, we can create a loving and memorable ceremony that will reflect your beliefs and your dreams.

At any time, you can call me with additional details or changes to be made. I am flexible, experienced and I am at your service throughout the entire process, from the initial planning stage to the wedding itself.

2.

Obtaining an Oregon Marriage License

In the State of Oregon, you may purchase your marriage license in any county courthouse and use it to be married anywhere in Oregon. You must apply in person to Clatsop and Tillamook counties. However, Washington County (located in Hillsboro) will issue marriage licenses through the mail. You can contact them to begin the process at 503-846-8752. Out-of-state couples will find this very convenient. Because of the pandemic, you’ll want to call whichever county you choose for the latest updates in their hours and protocol.

Clatsop County Clerk’s Office
820 Exchange Street, Suite 220
Astoria, OR 97103
503-325-8511

Tillamook County Clerk’s Office
201 Laurel Avenue
Tillamook, OR 97141
503-842-3402

There is a 3-day waiting period in Oregon once the license has been issued, and is valid for 60 days. Each applicant must be at least 18 years old.

3.

Your Wedding Day

We will be completely prepared and ready for your wedding. Your only assignment will be to arrive. You can feel secure and confident knowing that your wedding ceremony has been personalized and customized to reflect your beliefs, values and wishes. You both can live completely in the moment, enjoying your big day.

4.

Filing the Marriage License

Your Oregon signed and completed marriage license will be personally filed by me so that you can concentrate on more important things, like enjoying your honeymoon.
